About
In the 2022 challenge, FIRST ENERGIZE, students are given the opportunity to work together and reimagine the way energy is created to power the world and lead the way to a sustainable future. Young, 9-14 year old, aspiring engineers will be operating their student-designed, small-scale autonomous LEGO robots, completing missions based around the season’s challenge in order to score points. Each team will compete in three 2.5 minute rounds to determine their highest game score. Teams will also compete in presentations regarding robot design, core values, and a research project focused on real-world problem solving to identify innovative solutions. Judges and referees are volunteers, scientists, and engineers from NAVWAR and NIWC Pacific, who in addition, provide mentorship to TitanBot leadership.
The event will be accompanied by robot demonstrations of FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge robots, as well as a NAVWAR technology display. Special guests including dignitaries from Naval Information Warfare Systems Command, the Eastlake Educational Foundation, and Sweetwater Union High School District will be in attendance. Furthermore, opening ceremonies will have presentations by a Sweetwater District string quartet, and NIWC Pacific's color guard.
