TitanBot Hosts the Last FIRST LEGO League
Eastlake High School’s FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Team, TitanBot FRC #2543, is hosting the 16th annual FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Twenty-eight teams will compete in hopes of advancing toward the FIRST Championship. The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Eastlake High School gymnasium in Chula Vista.
History
In the previous 2025 challenge, UNEARTHED students followed the traces of the past: uncover hidden treasures, mysterious artifacts, and forgotten stories. Young engineers, ages 9 to 14, worked together to design and program small-scale autonomous LEGO robots. These robots had completed missions that simulated archaeological exploration, allowing teams to score points based on their creativity and technical skills. Each team competed in three 2.5-minute rounds to achieve their highest game score. In addition to the robot game, teams presented their robot design, core values, and a research project focused on innovative solutions to real-world archaeological challenges. Referees included volunteers from TitanBot and professional judges were present.
The event featured demonstrations of robots from the FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST LEGO League. Special guests, including dignitaries from the Eastlake Educational Foundation and Sweetwater Union High School District were in attendance.
